A global marketplace with a self-organizing distribution system for the food manufacturers

Case study: B2B Wholesale

Challenge

The Client approached us with a very high level vision of the application. The client already had the website in the same domain but serving different business goals. We were contracted for the finalization and extension, and further technical support of the site.
The client had only a vision of what the application should provide from a business standpoint. There were no functional requirements, documents, or mock-ups.

Solution

Since there were no functional requirements we allocated a business analyst who created Vision and Scope document. The documents passed a series of reviews and amendments with the client and finally were approved.
Then we made a budget assessment and selected a technology stack. Since another site was developed in PHP language we agreed on keeping it.
The following functionality has been implemented:
  • Registration of the personal account;
  • Filling in contact information;
  • Adding, editing, and publishing products;
  • Placing of Sales and Purchase orders;
  • Sophisticated admin panel with the ability to add and customize entities in the system.
After the testing phase, the site was put into extensive user acceptance testing.

Technologies

PHP and Laravel framework Vue.js HTML5 and CSS3 PostgreSQL

The final results

  • We have developed a convenient web portal with broad functionality that met all the Client’s requirements and was easy to use by the end-users.
Project implementation period: the active development phase lasted for 3 months.
After the implementation of the functionality, changes are constantly being made. Currently, we are engaged in technical support and enhancements of the site.
